Where the ash grows

Writing about some of Lincolnshire's veteran trees has been a welcome distraction during the coronavirus pandemic, visiting and photographing them when rules have allowed, learning about incredible individuals and finding out about fascinating species.

The third article in the series is out now in the February edition of Lincolnshire Life magazine. It's about an old ash tree in the parkland at Belton House, maybe not the most beautiful specimen nor the most lauded species, at least today, but nevertheless the Belton ash represents a tree of rare cultural, ecomonic and ecological importance.
