Exploring Britain’s most
beautiful, iconic and
interesting gardens
Classic gardens such as Sissinghurst, Great Dixter & Hidcote have inspired gardeners for decades, and continue to capture our imagination, as they seek to strike a balance between remaining true to their historic character and evolving to reflect a changing world.
In the last few decades, these historic masterpieces have been joined by a whole new generation of wonderful contemporary creations. Piet Oudolf's perennial meadow at Hauser & Wirth in Somerset, and Dan Pearson's re-imagining of the garden at Lowther Castle in Cumbria, are just two fresh and exciting examples.
Even more recently, a new breed of garden has taken root, motivated by the desire of pioneering gardeners to create spaces more resilient in the face of a changing climate, more in tune with nature and focussed on biodiversity. Gardens like Knepp's Walled Garden in Sussex, and Jo Mckerr's Meadow Garden in Somerset, are showing us an inspiring new way to garden.
I would love to show you some of these wonderful places, and share with you my passion & knowledge.
I offer private tours to small groups that are tailored to your individual requirements. These can be for groups up to 6, and be focussed on any region of England & Wales. I can suggest itineraries and plan the whole trip, from transport and pick up at the start, to accommodation and dining, and of course garden entry.
Tours ususally last from 2-4 days.
