I've been lucky enough to work on many interesting gardens. A recent Lincoln project though has been unusual for the spirit of creative adventure encouraged by the client - busy business people with an artistic instinct....and hands-on gardeners. *'Here's the space. We're not sure what to do with it and we're interested to see what you come up with....oh yes and we love Gaudi'*. As canvasses go that really was blank.

Thames floating gardens

London is full of surprises but it’s not everyday you stumble across something that blows you away. Last Sunday, on a pleasant, if not particularly eventful, walk along the South Bank from Rotherhithe, there was that something. Gardens…..floating on the rushing wet-sand-coloured water of Old Father Thames, just a stone’s throw from Tower Bridge.

Last week - 22 May 2015 - was International Day of Biological Diversity, intended to raise our understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues. It's a concept many of us don't fully understand, so what is it and, aside from its intrinsic value, why does it matter?
